Hillsboro School District PERS Seminar/Workshop - In Person
Description
Please join us for an Oregon Public Employee Retirement System seminar and workshop that will include information on how the Oregon PERS System works for employees, information on Individual Account Program (IAP) distributions and investment options, how Tier 1 and Tier 2 employees are affected by new legislation, and detailed information on the different retirement options offered through PERS with a discussion on the pros and cons for each situation. This will also include the process to apply for retirement estimates and benefits for those looking to retire in the near future. With the end of the school year fast approaching, now would be a great time to get the most information possible to make any decisions if retirement is being considered.
The seminar will take place at the Hillsboro School District Main Office in the board room at 6 PM on Thursday, May 11th.
We will also be discussing Social Security and 403(b) retirement options and how they correlate with the PERS System. This seminar is ideally suited for employees 10 years or less from retirement, but will provide valuable information for those who are also looking to learn about their benefits in general.
The seminar will be presented by Skylar Koon, a licensed fiduciary Investment Advisor Representative with Cetera Investors located in Tigard, Oregon. Skylar has been working with clients and employees within the Hillsboro School District, as well as districts statewide, for over a decade helping them to create financial plans that incorporate strategies to maximize the benefits from their PERS retirement while also taking into account entire household and spousal assets in order to successfully navigate the road to retirement and beyond.
